Business Challenge Thales Group Canada required a customized and fully integrated Paging System, Phone system, and Security system. They required a Wired and Wireless Phone system that would integrate it to the paging system in the office, production, and warehouse. The phone system also required door phones to authenticate use on entry and exit. In addition, high quality background music, with audio to play music via the paging speakers to conduct town hall in the production, and warehouse area was requested. Thales Group also required digital signate throughout the office, production, and warehouse area to broadcast business announcements, news, and other business information like health & safety messages, and general education. The meeting rooms had to be integrated with unified systems. Solutions Provided Synergy IT provided the client a competitive phone solution with SIP desk phones and wireless DECT phones throughout the property. The phone system is connected to a TOA state of the art High quality paging and background music system via a SIP gateway. We provided Video door phone system that integrated to the phone system and the security system to monitor and manage entrances and exits to the property. A digital signage system from BrightSign is install on to share and manage content over the network for all the large format TV installed through out the property.

Business Challenge They are 24 X 7 production with limited access to lab areas with solid soundproof high ceiling. Minimum requirement was to provide WIFi coverage of -67dBm to the edge. Solution Synergy IT Ekahau Certified Tech Team conducted various wireless surveys (Predictive, Active, Passive and Exit Surveys) as required during various phases of the project at ThermoFisher sites. Access Points spec’d out for the new design plan determined via Predictive Survey. The coverage patterns and the AP placements done based on required frequencies and heatmap analysis. Exit survey reports gap analysis reviewed with internal tech teams and Client global network support teams. Required remediation done by moving or relocating few APs along with finetuning of wireless controllers. We achieved the final required minimum signal strength of -67dBm to the edge to support VoWLAN. There was a -5dBm offset taken into account to factor the LCMI (Least Capable Most Important) devices, such as Tablets and Handheld Scanners. Synergy IT assisted ThermoFisher with procurement of all IT equipment required for the upgrade. Data Cabling for new APs and installation of APs done by Synergy IT infrastructure install teams based on recommended survey reports. Earlier requirements were to support handheld scanners and basic email and web services. WiFi infrastructure upgrade was required to accommodate current business needs to have seamless communication with new wifi equipment.

Business Challenge This was a manufacturing organization based in Toronto. They needed to use large number of wireless devices such as handheld scanners, wireless tablets, laptops etc. However, the existing wireless network was unstable and resulted in frequent disconnections. Application used for entering data through wireless devices was not usable. Data entry had to be done through wired connections resulting in reduced efficiency with less productivity. Approach / Methodology Our approach was to understand the environment through site inspection and perform a wireless site survey by measuring Wi-Fi and interference signal strengths in both frequency bands. We used the test results to find signal to noise ratio and draw the Wi-Fi heat maps to visualize the areas where there are high signal attenuation and dead spots for each frequency band. We were able to find multiple issues. Our Solution We used wireless networking tools to analyze the data and predict the optimal number of Wireless Access Points, best channels to use and the best location for each access point. We deployed a CISCO Wireless Controller based solution to provide the required Wi-Fi signal coverage. After deploying the Wireless Access Points in the predicted locations, we redid the site survey to validate the deployment. Results Achieved excellent Wi-Fi signal coverage for the entire area where the wireless devices were deployed in both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz bands. Increased wireless connectivity speed and improved efficiency. Increased productivity due to seamless operation of wireless devices.

One of the major Tile distributors approached Synergy IT as they had Ransomware attack collapsing their entire IT infrastructure across 3 locations and affecting 300 plus users. They were searching for a company who could take over from their inhouse IT at this time of need.
